Making an ethernet cable

 Making ethernet cables

  1. 1. Cut the piece of cable that you need from what you have using the cable wire cutting tool

  1. 2. You then need to strip of a part of the plastic casing of the cable, make sure that you don't cut straight through the wires.

  1. 3. Through the middle of the cable there is a plastic piece to hold it in place. You will want to peel that slightly down from where you have cut and cut it off

  1. 4. Unpair all the wires and straighten them out. To make it easy to straighten it out, you can use the casing to do it.

  1. 5. Now you will want to put the wires in the correct colour order, shown here:

  1. 6. Once the cables are all lined up, you will need to wire them through the IG45 plug. When doing this, you need to make sure that the colours are lined up in the correct order.

  1. 7. Once they are all through, push the plug down the cable until the casing is slightly in the plug.

  1. 8. Now you need to snip the wires using the wire snipping tool. There should be a part on it that is obvious where to snip it.

  1. 9. Now you need to repeat this on the other side. You need to make sure that the colours are correct on each side. So make sure that the colour combo is on the same side of the plug on each side, if not, then it will not work.
